David Boreanaz
Angel
David Boreanaz plays the lead role of Angel, the tortured vampire-with-a-soul. For three years previously, Boreanaz portrayed Angel on "Angel"'s parent show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", before creator Joss Whedon and his "right hand man", David Greenwalt created "Angel", the spinoff. Angel was written out of "Buffy" as having broken off his relationship with the lovely Slayer and moving to Los Angeles to allow his ex to have a normal life. There have been various crossovers during the show's premiere season, including the first direct crossover, which saw Buffy and Angel reunite as a couple for one episode, before their happiness was shattered by the demon world.
