#1 City of: Aired Tuesday,October 5, 1999

Angel is in L.A., aimlessly trying to do good and destroy vampires where he can. Half-human Doyle arrives, sent by the powers that be, and from a vision gives Angel the name and location of a girl desperately in need of help. Angel meets the girl, Tina, and finds her being harassed by a powerful man named Russell. Meanwhile, Angel also runs into Cordelia at a party, and while Cordelia talks a good game about her success as an actress in L.A., she is really starving and lonely. Russell kills Tina, and from the bite marks on her neck Angel realizes Russell is a vampire. Just as Russell is about to tuck into a meal of Cordelia, Angel comes to her rescue. Cordelia decides Angel and Doyle should open business, and she should be the assistant.

Angel is hunting a parasitic demon that is working a singles bar to find new bodies to move to. During his investigation, he meets a pretty L.A. detective named Kate. Doyle has a crush on Cordelia.

#3 In the Dark: Aired Tuesday, October 19, 1999

Oz brings Angel a present from Buffy: a ring that renders vampires invincible... to stakes or sunlight or anything. Spike is after the ring too, and he captures Angel and has another vampire torture him to find the ring. Cordelia, Doyle, and Oz find where Angel hid the ring, and bring it to trade for Angel. The tortuous vampire gets ahold of it, and Angel risks sunlight to get it back from him. Angel enjoys one day in the sun, and then decides that the ring is better destroyed, and smashes it.

Angel has to help a woman being terrorized by a neurosurgeon that is able to detach bodyparts with which to stalk her.

#5 Rm w/a Vu: Aired Tuesday, November 2, 1999

Cordelia finally gives up on her terrible apartment when she becomes infested with cockroaches. She moves in with Angel, and Doyle is being pursued by a violent demon bill collector. Angel says he'll help Doyle if Doyle gets Cordy out of his apartment. Doyle finds Cordelia a great new place to live and Angel gets the demon to back off for awhile. Cordelia's apartment is haunted by a woman who was killed by her son. Angel and Doyle try to help Cordelia get rid of the ghost, but get interrrupted by more demons with guns looking for money from Doyle. The ghost is trying to get Cordelia to commit suicide, but Cordy stands up to the old lady and they realize that the woman actually killed her own son by burying him in a wall of the apartment and then had a heart attack. Cordy and the friendly ghost of the son live happily ever after.

#6 Sense and Sensitivity: Aired Tuesday, November 9, 1999

Cordelia is upset because Angel isn't sensitive or considerate of her feelings. Angel helps Kate capture a mobster named Little Tony. Little Tony calls his lawyers at Wolfram & Hart, and they plant a sensitivity trainer in Kate's precinct, who supernaturally starts converting all of the cops into debilitated overly sensitive psychoanalysts. When Kate has emotional break-down at her father's retirement party, quickly followed by all the other cops in the room, Angel figures out something's wrong. He hunts down the sensitivity trainer, who tells him what's going on and that it's temporary. Angel is infected with the sensitivity as well and become a mess of feel-good emotions. Meanwhile, the sensitive cops let everyone out of jail, and Little Tony goes after Kate. Angel saves the day, Wolfram & Hart dumps Little Tony as a client and studies Angel.

#7 The Bachelor Party: Aired Tuesday, November 16, 1999

Just as Cordelia is starting to realize what a great guy Doyle is, his estranged wife shows up with her fiancé asking for a divorce. It turns out that her new beau is full demon, and she's a demonologist. While Cordelia is at the bridal shower, Doyle and Angel are at the bachelor party. The groom's brothers dispose of Angel, and then trap Doyle in order to cut open his head and eat his brains. Angel comes back in time to save Doyle, and Cordelia and Doyle's ex realize what is about to happen. Cordelia and the bride-to-be burst into the bachelor party which has degenerated into an all-out fight, and Doyle's ex calls off the wedding when her groom says that he can't marry her without completing the ritual of eating Doyle's brain.

#8 I Will Remember You: Aired Tuesday, November 23, 1999

Buffy shows up to tell Angel off for skulking around Sunnydale. They are attacked by a demon who gets away. They split up to hunt it, and Angel ends up killing it. Some of the demon's blood mixes with Angel's and Angel becomes completely human. He visits the oracles of the powers that be, and they confirm that he's really human. He reunites with Buffy, and they have a perfect day, including eating ice-cream in bed and falling asleep in eachother's arms. Doyle has a vision, and tells Angel that the demon's back and he's pissed. Angel goes to fight it, but now that he's human it's a lost cause. Buffy wakes up and saves Angel, but the demon warns that more soldiers of darkness are coming. Angel realizes he's no good as human, and he can't reunite with Buffy if it means she or others might die. He begs the oracles to make everything right, and they jump back the clock 24 hours. Only Angel is left with the memory of their perfect day.

#9 Hero: Aired Tuesday, November 30, 1999

In Doyle's latest vision, he sees a family of hapless half-demons being hunted by The Scourge, a group of pure blood demons who persecute those of mixed blood. Angel infiltrates The Scourge, while he tries to get the half-breeds onto a ship to get them out of the country. Doyle's half-demon status is revealed to Cordelia, who is surprised that he was scared to tell her. She agrees to go out with him, but he ends up sacrificing his life to save the half-demon family. He leaves her with a magical kiss.

#10 Parting Gifts: Aired Tuesday, December 14, 1999

Cordelia is missing Doyle, but realizes that she has been left with his gift of visions... which she desperately tries to get rid of by kissing everyone she sees. A demon named Barney comes to Angel looking for help because he's being hunted by an assassin. Angel investigates, and it turns out Wesley is the assassin, and it's not Barney he's after, he's hunting a Kungai demon that is collecting other demon's powers, and the Kungai was hunting Barney. Cordelia stays with Barney while Wesley and Angel go after the Kungai, but it turns out that Barney is the bad guy, and when he finds out about Cordelia's new gift he collects her as an item to sell in an auction he's having. Angel and Wesley rescue Cordelia just as she's being bought by a lawyer from Wolfram & Hart. The lawyer is none to pleased to lose her merchandise.

#11 Somnambulist: Aired Tuesday, January 18, 2000

Angel starts having dreams about killing, and when he sees the pictures from a new serial killer that Kate is investigating, he thinks he might killing people again in his sleep. It turns out that the real culprit is another vampire that Angel made many years ago who uses a similar signature. During the investigation, Kate not only figures out what it is that she's hunting, but what Angel is as well. She swears that she'll stake Angel the next time she sees him, but she spares him and ends up killing the real bad guy, the other vampire.
